The Makeup of Human Kind - Episode 3 - Jess’s Story

I first met Jessica about five years ago when I had the pleasure of doing her makeup for a female bodybuilding competition. I remember she was a bit nervous, which is understandable given how intense stage makeup can be. We chatted through the process, and I helped her feel at ease while making sure she looked absolutely stunning. From that day on, I’ve been doing her makeup regularly, and it’s been amazing to watch her shine both on and off stage. During one of our chats, I learned that Jessica is a woman of many talents, but what really stood out to me was her involvement in a remarkable cosplay group. Not only do they participate in charity work, but they also spend their time cheering up sick children, supporting charitable events, and bringing smiles to people's faces. Her dedication to spreading positivity and kindness is truly inspiring.

Since I first met Jessica, we've had many early morning chats while I did her makeup, and during our interviews, it became clear just how deeply important serving others and giving back to the community is to her. Jess works tirelessly and always felt the need to bring something into her life that was both enjoyable and rewarding. That’s when she turned to her ultimate source of inspiration—Wonder Woman. She joined a cosplay group and quickly discovered that its members shared the same values. Jess and her group now regularly visit children's hospitals and support various charity events, spreading joy and positivity wherever they go. She also spoke with so much enthusiasm about attending cosplay festivals in Perth, where she gets the chance to brighten people's days, chat with fans, and pose for photos. It’s incredible to see how much joy and goodwill she spreads through these acts of kindness.

While Jess has a deep love for dressing up as Wonder Woman, she doesn’t limit herself to just one character. She’s also been known to rock costumes like Cheetara from ThunderCats and Ariel from The Little Mermaid, showcasing her versatility and creativity. What’s even more impressive is that Jess enjoys making her own costumes, pouring time and effort into each one to bring these iconic characters to life. Her passion for cosplay goes beyond just wearing the costumes—it’s about fully immersing herself in the experience, and it’s clear she loves every moment of the creative process.
